About Orphanage Gretel is in the 2nd grade and lives with both parents. Inheritance of Life Christian School in Guatemala opened in January 2019 with more than 100 students! Not only do the students receive an education, they also learn about the love of Jesus and are fed. Biblical education is the key to helping the very poor escape their current life path. Children born to poor parents usually receive no education; instead the boys head to the fields to become day laborers at age 12, while the girls are expected to find a husband at age 14 to provide for them. Most of these girls have their first child by age 17. Biblical education is the best way to break this cycle.
